With Cinema’s having reopened on 19th May and blockbusters hitting the screens, you’ll not want to miss the latest release – Nomadland for inspiration of hitting the open road!

The storyline, based on the economic collapse of a company town in rural Nevada, Fern (Frances McDormand) packs her van and sets off on the open road to explore life outside of conventional society as a modern-day nomad.

The third feature film from director Chloe Zhao, NOMADLAND features real nomads based on real life experiences with Linda May, Swankie and Bob Wells’ as Fern’s mentors and comrades in her exploration through the vast landscape of the American West. Her story also challenges conventional notions of success and the American Dream.

It’s a life on the open road and in the unknown for Fern, travelling through America’s beautiful landscape, working at jobs here and there and meeting fellow nomads like her who have also experienced a rude awaking from their American Dream.

It’s a beautiful film that doesn’t toy with the pain of its subjects, featuring older Americans who’ve adopted a transient lifestyle, living in campervans and trailers.

You might expect to see a mixture of fury, resentment, sadness, and defeat, instead, what you will see is a sense of peace, serenity and belonging.

As Fern travels from one place to another and meets more people roaming the American West, she realises she has fallen upon a previously unknown community to whom she can relate to.

People just like her, people who scrapped modern day life to be at one with nature.

Now with that in mind, why not plan a trip mixed with simplicity and yet the ultimate luxury with Nomad Motor Homes. Following 18 months of being cooped, it’s time to explore the outdoors in style!
